Been a few years now but back to giving my car some attention. Be out of the body shop next week and will be doing a coyote swap soon. Bought a LOW mileage gen 2 and curious what Trans everyone is using. I'm leaning towards a T56. Also, any advice on swapping coyote into a 95? I already have some parts for the swap but curious of some must haves. Already looking at the PBH Speed Drive set up, UPR K member.

Using a T-56 Mag myself. Obviously more than up to the task. A regular T-56 should be fine for a good while depening on mileage.

Get a Stifflers trans cross member no matter what. You might need an entirely new driveshaft as the output spline count might be higher on the T-56, but talk to D&D Performance. They know everything about Mustang drivetrains and can answer any question.

You'll need a way to control the engine whether it's a Ford Control Pack or an aftermarket standalone like Holley or something like it.

You might need to get mounts that lower the swaybar though I'm not certain on it. Maximum Motorsports make a great one and I have one for sale if you need it.

I do recommend K-member spacers either 1/4" or 1/2", again MM makes those.

Thanks for the advice. The set up I bought came with all the Holley harnesses, just need to buy a dominator, Term X, or HP. Haven't made that decision yet..

If you’re going Holley, get the terminator x max and you can use a drive by wire throttle body. You cannot control cam position though, you’ll need the tivct controller from Holley, but you’ll be stuck with their predefined tables, which are actually pretty good.

I ran a 4r70w, t45, and now a 6r80 in my swap.

I'll most likely go with the terminator x. A shop out of Indy previously installed comp cams with lockouts, so the tivct won't be needed.. If I understand that correctly? I'm still researching things on this, which is why I'm back on the forums.....

What's your intended usage? Keep VCT active if you can unless it's going to be a max effort race car. VCT is one of the biggest advantages of these motors and Comp Cams does have sets that allow it to still work.

My intended usage will be a weekend cruiser with some ass behind it. Not really a drag car, but something I can have some fun in. I was wanting to swap my original pushrod 5.0 for the coyote and build it as I went. I have asshole friends who send me motors I don't need and I ended up with a nice one... Low miles and already had a supercharger and cams in it which was my long term goal. Ended up starting with that.... so here I am searching the forums for advice before I do the swap. Motor also already had the lockouts and came with a pile of parts for a swap.

When I did my coyote swap, an oil filter relocation kit makes it so you don’t have to screw around with the sway bar. Also there is an extremely easy spot to put it; up in that access hole between the front bumper and the inner fender on the drivers side. It’s simple to do and it makes service a hell of a lot easier.

I just put a TKX in my '02 Coyote swap and it's almost as smooth as a T5. I got my stuff from Modern Driveline and they have some great shift levers to boot!
