I can vouch royal purple. Excellent stuff! Amsoil is top notch stuff as well.

no, dealers are around or order on line. well worth it. when I had my 01 Bullitt, I did my own research on the various tranny fluids. I did:

1. valvoline full syn, better than whatever was in the car when I got it.
2. Royal purple: made it much worse
3. Redline: even worse than the RP
4. Mobil 1, best of that bunch
5. Amsoil, the best of all of them.

what i was looking at was smoothness in shifting. the 3650 trans in those cars notorious for not being smooth. when I got this car, went right to Amsoil. was much better than whatever was in it. the tremec trans are also particular about the fill level. needs to be spot on. I found the easiest way to change the fluid is to pull the plug in the bottom, drain, replace plug, pull the shifter and pour down thru there in order to get the amount right. I use CobraBob's gaskets instead of rtv to make fluid changes easier.

I might use trans fluid from a parts store cuz I gotta order Amsoil and I'm impatient lol. Is silicone gasket hard to remove in case I switch to Amsoil? I didn't order a gasket with the shifter

I bought 4 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic atf fluid, do I need friction modifier? If so, how much do I use and is that how it would be labeled on the bottle? The pep boys worker wasn't very helpful lol

Does Royal Purple already have friction modifier in it? I really wanted to change my tranny fluid with replacing my shifter tomorrow LOL
