The CCRM
controls both speeds and a few other things doesn't it?

It's a 200 fix, but if that is the issue at least I'll know it's fixed.

Yes the CCRM controls both fans , the a/c relay , Fuel pmp and it also sends pwr to the computer.
Some of the hi dollar OBD2 diagnostic tools can tell you if that the problem or not. I think they can turn on/off the fans but can't change the set points.
If you had a multimeter, you could probably test the pins to see if the signals are coming in /out of the CCRM in the first place.
Or pick up a used CCRM on the cheap

But this is most likely the culprit?

I would run and go check but it is 15 outside, and I am staying in for the day, I've tinkered enough. haha can't feel my hands.

I know the fuel pump works, hi speed fan works. A/C works/sends signal to fan for Hi.
Wow that is too much for one device, which would mean replacing should a function go out....
Thanks again!

didn't read the posts, but had this issue myself and have seen it over the years.
you probably already now, but best fix is larger radiator to fix this issue.
Mods run hot and the stock rad is like 1" thick.

I will be doing that myself, but without a low speed fan, I question it's ability to keep cool.

What brand did you go with?
I'm looking at either SVE, Mishimoto, or Fluidyne myself.

Ugh...adding parts, cleaning, driving is fun.

But god do I hate electronics...
I remember chasing gremlins for a month on my 09 after the blower install. When one day I pinched a wire and everything worked perfectly....I've always hated wiring. To me it's like a needle in a haystack.

I've narrowed it down to, need a new fan, need a new CCRM, or in case I was wrong, a fan harness, and worst case a combination of the three.
I will go hunt for a voltmeter to double check the wire harness which connects to the fan. If it checks out, I guess I am down to two things...
That's progress though, at first it was 8.

It fit great.

GL with the electrical gremlins most big builds have some and they are a PITA!

Thanks.
I'll look into a fluidyne when the time comes, for now, I'm working on my fan.
Appreciate the tip!

Ok new ccrm, no change. No low speed fan.
That points to the fan right?

I also double checked the harness, nothing remotely damaged.
Pins are in good order as are wires.

Nothing at all to suggest it burning or melting. Also looked at the connectors on the fan itself, nice and shiny.
That would rule out the pigtail harness yes?

As always I appreciate the tips.

Have you verified what the actual water temp is while waiting for the fan to come on?

I monitored that as well during many of my tests.

210 and still nothing.
Why would that be the actual PCM temp sensor?
I know I could go grab one today. They have them in stock.
I haven't committed to ordering the fan just yet. But at 2 I may as it will still ship as long as I do it by then.

But that was only through my handheld. So I suppose if the sensor is off, it would give a false reading.

I am going to town today to get some wiring to try it one more time.
If the ccrm isn't it, the fan isn't it, and the harness, that would leave the sensors.

Too bad it isn't warmer out, I could get alot more done.
I just put put the 4.0 around in the meantime.

the low speed fan comes on at 221F and again off at 200F

here are some things that you could check for your running near hot condition, my guess the radiator:

radiator size and general condition/sludge deposits in system
coolant level
water pump
belts
thermostat
base timing
engine general condition
harness and wire general condition
