I originally bought the car with the intention of LS swapping it and turning it into a race car. With gas prices so high, I decided that I might as well toss another 3.8 in it and use it for a gas getter. I found a cheapish low mileage 3.8 on market place, so I snagged that up. The plan is to get it back up and running good, lower it a bit, and slap some wheels and upgrade the stereo system.

The body is pretty straight, but the paint is baked... I'll probably do the prep work and let maaco spray it (stock color, or something close enough to where I don't have to jam it out.)

The interior is actually really clean. The front seats are nice, the seat covers aren't hiding anything. I think over all the car is actually pretty damn solid.

Went and borrowed my uncles trailer because our trailer has the tall side rails which means you have to climb out the window, and I'm much to fat for that noise. I almost made the 7 mile trip back into town before a tire started coming apart.

So I went dropped it off at my house, and picked up my trailer (Duke boys it is.) The rest of the trip was uneventful. The car was exactly what he said it was, so I paid him. He was a skinny dude, so he offered to pull it onto the trailer and climb out the window, I took him up on that.

When I got the car home, I climbed my fat butt through the window, and went to back it off the trailer, then realized I didn't have the keys. My bro n law rode with me to get the car, so I had him look around my truck for my keys, but he couldn't find them... so I had to climb my fat butt back out of the window, while trying not to fall off the trailer onto the ground, which is fun with a bad back.

I finally found the keys laying in the grass. My brother n law offered to back it off the trailer. He is a big guy as well, so it was fun watching him climb through the window, hehe.

I'm going to be doing a youtube build series, I'll post on here and also post links to the videos.

Once the car was unloaded, I took it for a quick ride to make sure the transmission is good, so I didn't end up selling somebody a dud.

Looking forward to it! I’ve contemplated doing an ls swap myself. Of course I’d like to doit as cheap as possibly and keep the ac in the car. But I’m giving my modular platform a try before anything. Also I have a 95 obs single cab, was it very hard ls swapping yours?

Ls swapping obs trucks is super simple. There’s nothing wrong with the mod motors, I’m tossing together a 98gt with a pi motor as we speak (there’s a build thread on here for that as well.)

I decided not to ls swap.... I'm going to build a decent driver/gas mileage car.

Yeah, the 94-98 v6 cars got factory shorty headers. I knew this car had an exhaust leak, but when I got under it to pull the motor I realized somebody did true duals… haha, guess I’ll try and find a stock gt cat cat and keep it duals.

so the good running motor I bought turned out to be missing a freeze plug from the block. Messaged the seller and he back tracked all the stuff he told me, so I don’t trust the engine one but, and he won’t refund any of my money so… screw it, ls swap it is. If anybody needs any 3.8 parts (coils, starters, alternators, etc, hit me up, I got two of everything. Also got a good 4r70w trans.)

I slapped together a cheap 6.0 lq4 with 862 heads and a ss2 cam with pac 1218 springs and ran a 8.23 at 85 mph with a crappy 1.86 60 gt in a heavy c1500 truck. That’s a 12.8ish in the quarter. That was the first pass and I was babying it. Left much harder the 2nd pass and broke the rear end. It had an easy high 7 second pass in it, which is like a mid 12. A little spray and 11s shouldn’t be much of a problem.

My buddy has a c1500 that had a 5.3 with a gt45 turbo and it ran low low low 7s. He swapped the gt45 out for an s480 and it now has a much better trans and stall (and now has a trans brake.) It probably makes 800ish at tire. It’s moves out real nice now.

These ls engines are hard to beat and they love power adders.

I’ll post some progress pics of the car in a few days. Swapping the rear out in the truck and changing the suspension around a bit, then I’ll get back on the mustang.

6.0 ls in a sn95 will be able to run 11’s easily with a cam and some decent suspension .

So the plan as of now is to strip the interior, and go full race car. If anybody needs interior parts, PM. I'll ship smaller parts, but big parts will need to be picked up in Sullivan, Mo. Dash and everything is going. Also selling a bunch of the 3.8 accessories, a good 4r70w v6 trans, etc, etc. Make reasonable offer on any of it. Just pm me.

I don’t know why, but for some reason I just can’t get motivated enough to want to work on this car. To be honest I even listed locally for 500 bucks, but just got a bunch of tire kickers. I decided that I’d part the interior and build a drag car… but that still just wasn’t feeling it. Then I got this idea of a turbo ls powered death cart… ok, now I’m going getting interested! So within the next few days the front clip, truck, doors and all the interior is coming out… and so is the saw and cut off wheels.
