URGGGGG! Car wont start!!!!

Im almost 99% positive its the clutch safety switch cause one day it didnt start leaving me stranded to process thought about whats going on. Thinking...well all the chimes are dinging, nothing clicks, or drags down from voltage strain......i bet its the clutch switch!

30min later after all the tantrum fit...i try pumping the clutch while holding the key switch over and to my luck after a few pumps the starter hit, turning the engine over. Problem here is, i pumped with to much excitement and out pumped the switch. Trying again but much slower, so to catch it starting and stay into the start, i proceeded and it eventually caught connection to where itll start.

I got home, tucked her away into the garage and proceeded to live my hectic life, forgetting about this starting situation.

Finally a decent enough day of dry pavement, i wanted to roast some tires! Totally oblivious remembering the no start problem, stupid me pushes the car out of the garage for a 30 minute tour.

Let explain why i push the car out....the garage is a basement garage and first start ups produce the worst of emissions, choking the entire house up and i try to prevent burning the house down just incase a problem occurs while starting.

Once the cars front wheels edge over the garage concrete onto the asphalt driveway, down onto a slight grade, the car rolls out very easily. Pretty much no chance of me pushing the car back in.

30minutes of tantrum fit later, after attempting to bypass the switch with no luck of starting, i try pushing the car back in.

30minutes later after acquiring the help from my 15yr old son, we managed to wheel the car in.

So i ask myself....is it the safety switch? Cause i noticed 2 switches operating from depression of the clutch pedal. One is what i thought to be the safety switch, the other is operated from the quadrant from resting position...whatever that switch does...

School me here...im lost

One is safety switch that disables the starter. The other is to kill cruise control.

Good, i was right when attempting to by bypass the switch. Is the switch normally open or normally closed when at rest? Cause i pulled the plug and jumped the terminals thinking its normally open and that closing the loop would allow a start, ...only it didnt start.

if my manual is correct it shows the switch as normally open which would make sense because if it was normally closed and failed or was removed then it would still start. Sitting there basically kicking the car could have done a few things. See if you have power at the starter relay.

A few more progress pics. Filled in weld now i gotta tig the flange and then itll be ready to be milled flat. Also need to machine the injector bosses in.

I need to order more materials so that i can start on the other set of runners. Ive already been asked to produce more intakes. Perhaps ill order more than needed materials. ..idk

Preheat....Get a trigger gun for propane at the big box store. Then when you are ready to weld heat the part with your left hand and MIG gun in your right =pretty beads.

Makes sense! I did get it all good and warm in front of a kerosene blower, but not the 800° it needs to be.
