Several around the Louisville area have it but not nearly half. When we make our trips back and forth to Florida I see it far less.

It is slowly showing up in more places

Blown head gasket!

Im not sure if this is a result from re-used headgaskets and bolts or that i drove the car 10miles hot with a popped heater hose. Lets just say its both!!

This sadens me cause now i cant drive the car, but on the flip side im happy cause ill build something different. ......but with loads of compression!

A few ideas
Stay npi heads but newer 5.4l style heads with bigger water chambers. Ported out and decked .120" just like what i have now. 13.1static. No re-tuning required. Low budget

Switch to pi heads. Try a few new modifications tricks, deck them to be equal to or higher in compression. No re-tuning required. Low budget

Swap to 4v heads, like i want to eventually, but i havent fully explored the 2v heads to the max.

4v B heads, i have evything needed but ill need to fab an intake, which i attempted, but wasn't happy with. Capabilities of tig welding is what holds me back. High budget. Tuning required

4v C heads, i have everything needed including a navigator lower intake. I could build/weld an upper plenum for the lower like most folks have done thats swapped in a 5.4l. High budget. Tuning required.

Im leaning towards a simple rebuild back to 2v npi heads, but am open to others ideas.

4v heads on a 5.4............this sounds intriguing and you haven’t done it yet.

If it makes you said that you can’t drive it for a while then just step back and remember your old buddy evil haven’t driven his in 4 years.

The missing link,
I have a set of 3v with intake that will be better than a 4v set up...

I’d say don’t tempt him................

But do tempt him!!! That would be awesome and I haven’t seen it done yet.

that is the price you pay to have the ability to have sex anytime you want.

There’s days I ponder if having sex with the same person over and over is worth not having my beast back together.

I did 4 Cobra engines..
Too many moving parts..lots of inertia going on, when you take your foot off the gas too fast is when stuff happens.
Heavy heads..
Big, not much room with a 5.4 sucking up space.
High end cams are a waste of money..
Weak chambers, hard to do big valves or heavy port work..always crack.
Really needs rear cross over cooling..
Can not keep them bolted down..studs help but not much, mucho gasket problems.
PM me..

Here we go again!

Ive narrowed my decision down to either npi heads again, but grind out a different set or pi heads. My thoughts are that i have not fully explored the 2v platform

Love the ladies
but my cars dont bitch

To be fair, she doesn’t keep me from working on it. Building this home and trying to finish stuff has slowed me down this year. The last 2 years I didn’t have the time and money cause I was getting royally screwed by someone who used to be a friend.

And I’ve learned to ignore her when she bitches. [emoji38]
