OP did you make a choice?

Both are pathetically slow in stock form and both need H/C/I swaps to get over 300rwhp.

I've owned both and didn't feel one was better than the other except back in late 90's there wasn't much support or knowledge of the modulars so the potential wasn't unlocked.

Now I would have no problem choosing a 2V even if I wanted a 600rwhp car because the tech and parts are available.

5.0 will always have tons of options and sky is the limit with them also.

Vert... will never get rid of mine!

Your forgetting to include Boost or Nitrous.

Both will net better gains per dollar than HCI, for either platform.

Its been proven, go browse modularfords once in a while, great tech forum.

That kit is at least 3400 you will need to upgrade fuel supply. . It's rated @380 or 390hp I believe. If I remember right tfs rates at the flywheel..

Yep, thats with bar heads and generic cams that TFS gets you. If we move the money figure out of the equation you can push over 400 no problem with supporting mods. Heads/cams/intake, LT's, pullies, tune. I can see it being close to 420-450hp crank.

Stock vs. stock it should be a drivers race. I raced a later fox body with my 97 and I was able to pull him just a little bit. The mods were very similar (CAI, and minor exhaust work). I would still get the 2V because of the way it sounds, the 5.0 sounds good, but that 2V though. OP my advise is to get the vert, it's a great looking car.

You sure the fox was a 5.0? Sounds like it may have been a 4 banger... I keed, I keed.

In all seriousness, the fox needed a drivers mod if you pulled him.
