Since winter is coming I figured I would start a build thread for my 98 GT I picked up a few months ago. Car has been repainted and aside from the front of the hood is in excellent condition cosmetically. Unfortunately I don't have all of the details on the history or mods on the car but I do know it has some recent suspension work including all new steering components as well as the lowering springs. Cosmetically this was exactly what I was looking for in a SN95 and was even the color I wanted so it was too good of a deal to pass up even with the higher miles (180k) and the questionable/minimal history. Being completely rust free helped too.

Current Mod list:
K&N hot air intake (will be changed soonish)
Steeda lowering springs
Flowmaster super 44 cat back exhaust
X pipe with cats removed (unsure on how long I will keep this setup since I am not a fan of the raw exhaust)
BBK Intake manifold and throttle body
Black American Racing Bullet style wheels (On the list to change)

Planned mods:
T45 manual swap
New wheels (98 Cobra or something similar) Open to suggestions on size but thinking 17x8/9 staggered setup
Proper cold air intake. Unsure on what exactly since I've never been a huge fan of oiled air filters.

Very nice find. Be sure to start a build thread for us so we can follow along. What part of Delaware are you in? I grew up in Lower Delaware between Millsboro and Rehobeth Beach.

Yes, definitely keep us updated via a Build Thread. Great looking color! I certainly support your proposed changes simply because each should do as they like for their car. The only thing that raised an eyebrow is the 17x8’s, which of course is determined by the size tire you are thinking of running on the front.

I'm up in North Middletown. Will be updating this thread as I work on the car.

I think the car currently has 17x8 on both the front and rear. Tires currently are 245/45/17 which fit well but would like something wider in the rear.

These are likely the ones I'll go with assuming they fit with no rubbing.

These are also options but doubt they will fit without some modifications.

These are 18's and I think a bit too much wheel for me but really like the design.

The big ones fit. I had the exact same offset setup from LMR. I ended up going back to 275’s all the way around after learning handling is better than with offsets.

That looks pretty spot on for what I wanted. Was your car lowered there and did you need to do any fender rolling or have any rubbing issues?

Rear fenders are rolled. Bought it that way. With the 315 rears I was glad to have the wiggle room, tho ride height is set a good inch above. Never any rubbing front or rear. My car IS lowered but not dramatically like some. Maybe 1.5” front and 2” in the rear. I also have MM LCA’s with the adjustable perch.

The 315’s fit even when I was running the quad shocks setup.
