I have the red 373 speedo gear. It worked fine for my old 373 5.0. always thought past 373s you need a speedcal. Could be wrong its just what i thought.

Speaking of speedcals. Get the dallas extended range if you ever get one. The frpp one works but sucks compared to the dallas.

really? Hm. Lol. I like you BigBore... you always turn my shit upside-down. . .. LOL.

I looked everywhere and couldnt find a 373+ speedo gear. if you got one, more power to ya!!

As for the speedcal the guy on the phone at A.M. told me the dallas was discontinued due to poor quality and the FRPP was a much higher-quality product. I wanted the Dallas because I'm the type of guy who buys products from those who did the R&D on the product, not the company that scoops up the design later, but I couldnt track down a dallas....

As far I know you can get up to 4.10 but you would have to change the Speedo drive gear in the Trans it self.. The red should work on my car from what user the cobra already has the seven tooth Speedo gear... Don't want a speed Cal.. Gear is like a fraction of the price and works just as good of not better no formula to mess with..

I believe there is three Trans gears that go inside the Trans itself a 8 tooth a 7 tooth and a 6 tooth.. Seven tooth and a red 21 tooth give you the 373.. I think if you have the 8 tooth in your Trans it gives you 3.55.. There is a chart I'll see if I can find it

Ive never heard anything about the dallas being bad quality. Or discontinued for that matter. The old one (non extended range) is avail anymore. But the extended still is.

I have the frpp one in my gt for the 4.10s. I absolutely hate it. Cruise control is goofy and annoying. At idle the speedo will sometimes just go up and down. Sometimes going all the way around and getting stuck on the other side. Ive tried replacing it thinking defective and also making sure the wires were solid. They are. Hate that thing. From my research its pretty common for the frpp one. Luckily it doessnt affect : autp trans function. More of an annoyance.

That is a nice graph you posted op. Gona have to save it. I was looking at swapping my t45 driven gear to get my 4.30s corrected.

I've heard good and bad things about both.. But I rather stay away if possible.. That 4.30 kit is for the t5 not sure if it fit the t45..

speedo gears dont work for crap in the t45 they shed the gears due to the fact they are plastic just get the speed cal. Find a used one they are all over the place hit up the svtp forums. As for the gears i have 410s in my 98 and i like them and to be honest, they probably shouldve came from the factory with 373s but i would just keep those in there i wouldnt worry about changing to 410s or 430s its not that big of a jump its like going from 355 to 373 not really worth it 373 is a great all around gear.

On a side note i think if its pretty laggish you should just pull the manifold off and take a look at the imrc plates i deleted mine because they blow with a tune and some gear you dont even notice theyre missing.

There is plastic one in there now.. The white 23 tooth one is the one know for messing up.. The teeth are so thin.. But supposedly it only does if there is some kind of issue with the Trans.. I'm leaving the 3.73 in.. Imrcs I want to clean but I don't want to break into it till I find a set of gaskets.. Just in case I damage one our they need replacing.. I haven't really tried finding them either.. Not sure about deleting them.. I thought about it but unless they malfunction I think I'll just leave then alone..

Huh? from the factory they are plastic. They're all pretty much plastic for the mechanical speedos. They break when you get thins ones.

Not to mention, getting the speedcal is redundant for your point. As the speedcal is still powered by the plastic gear that is inside the tranny.
