Update. Swapped over to a 95 style gas tank.
The 98 used a hybrid between return and returnless. Pumps are expensive and the people run into trouble sucking the basket dry. . There are more options for the 97 down fuel tank style. Now im running a 95 gastank with a 340lph fuel pump. .. the swap is pretty simple need 94-97 gas tank. I believe they are all the same cobra gt or v6. Fuel lines from axle back. Wiring for the fuel tank.. need filler tube from the same car.
Swaped an axle. Think the old one might be slightly bent.. and put a new diff cover.

BigBore96 : "And yes, the IMRC's could be causing an issue. If new the to the 96-98 4v's. Look for cables behind the intake that criss cross. Rev the car and see if they move. (Even if they move it could be a problem) But it gives an idea."
Can someone explain what this means? What i should be looking for, thanks.

Behind the intake there are two small cables. Something like the brakes on a bicycle. . Those control the imrc.. they should open after certain rpm.

OK. Thanks, I appreciate it. I also need to look into finding out how to remove mine and inspect/clean it.

They make a GT variant too, I have only ever been able to find a pic of one car that has it and it looks damn good as well. Problem is, ABC is a shit company that sells ill fitting stuff and isn't exactly known for standing behind their products. Still, if you can get one of those bumpers to fit well its damn sick looking.

I have heard the same about them. You would think all the years they have made stuff they would be alot better. Im always scared getting aftermarket stuff for that reason.

This thread is also getting me motivated to swap my 98 to an older style tank setup as well. The PO swapped the rails to 97 style so at least that is taken care of.

98 rails are 98 specific. They have a welded on FPR that you CANNOT CHANGE. Going to the 96/97 rails allows you to run an AFPR. The 98 fuel system is also a **** and a half with that goddamn 2 speed pump and basket setup etc... Luckily, swapping to a 97-down tank is easy OR one can run the 03/04 Aviator in-tank pump which is a drop in for 98 cars and flows 300lph.

Maybe someone swapped yours? I've also heard of a few factory snowflake 98s with full 99-up returnless systems. I hate crossover years lol.
