Just picked up this gal the other day. It's a 98 GT with a blown up 4.6. Car had a few mods done, 3:73 gears, high flow cats with divorced duals and knock off flowmasters, and a short throw shifter.

I plan on doing a pi swap ('10 crown vic motor), redoing the exhaust, and probably hitting it with a 125 shot later on down the road. Other than that, just a bunch of cosmetic work to clean the old gal up.

I got the motor pulled today. The strut towers and the frame rails look mint! I'm going to spend much of the day tomorrow power washing the engine bay, might repaint it, undecided.

I was under the impression that the vics (pi) and the mustang (pi) cams were the same?
I did a big camshaft measurement thread. Discovered the mustang and truck cams to be the better cams despite what you may have read on the internet. The vic cams dont even surpass .460" lift intake and exhaust and duration is set more for driving torque.

I did some searching and couldn't find the thread you were talking about. Do you happen to have a link to it?

I picked up the pi crown vic motor today. I was going to push the car out of the shop and power wash the engine bay, and then start swapping parts on the motors... but my sinuses are kill me, so I tried to limit outside time today.

looking good man! Good call on cleaning and repainting the engine bay while it’s out! I regret not doing mine when I swapped the pi engine in. Also now would be a good time to reloom the harness to make it look more presentable! Maybe even rebuilding the Vic engine for better piece of mind? And I’m with black on the cams. Very knowledgeable guy. I have a set of grinder 5.4 cams from him and the engine runs good

I’m in favour of slap it in and send it
That’s the plan. Repainted the engine bay. From the frame rails down is all black, everything above them is white with black accents. Pics tomorrow, I forgot to take them before leaving the shop.

My bro n law ended up buying this from me. He’s not real mechanically inclined, so part of the deal was I help him put it back together. This car is completely rust free, stock towers and frame rails were perfect, but the paint was wore thin and there was bare metal showing so we wanted to take car of that while the engine was out. We were originally going to paint it white, with everything below the top of the frame rail black…. But my bro n law decided to do the whole thing black… so it’s black.

The deal was, I help him finish the car, he wants to learn how to do this stuff so I only work on it when he’s able to help. Which is a half hour here, half hour there. Yesterday we decided to pull some of the accessories of the old motor to put on the new motor. We still have to pull the timing chain cover…. We’re hoping to have the new motor cleaned up and painted and all the new parts switched over sometime this weekend. He’s not available again til Saturday, but we can make some decent progress this weekend.

Regret not painting my bay black when I did the engine swap.. shame because I’m having the car painted soon. But I do plan on pulling the engine and throwing a beefier one in one day so I’ll get to that engine bay eventually lol
