98 GT cluster question

I bought a nice used 98 GT from a lady, she was original owner. Something went wrong with her original cluster and someone replaced it with a V6 cluster. I bought a V8 cluster for a 98 GT and I’m curious if I can put it in with out issues or will I have to get it programmed? How does the V6 cluster work with a V8 car?
