Hey y’all I’ve had my 98 gt convertible for about 6 months. I haven’t done a whole lot with the car just yet. I redid the convertible top on my own. I took her to get my coolant system fixed including new intake manifold and radiator yesterday. Definitely feels amazing for sure. Im hyped to meet everyone and start building up the project nice to meet everyone.

Welcome to the forum.

How hard would you say the top replacement was? Did you have any past experience with them?

It was fairly labor intensive. About 12-16 hours of labour with no mechanical knowledge. Just was really really patient and used a youtube video I can link if you want. Ive had no experience with them before it was the first mod I did on my car myself

Welcome! I've had my 98 GT Convertible since new. They have their unique challenges by comparison to hardtops, but I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Hi! I'm new here also. Bought a '95 GT convertible a few weeks ago.

Wow, if you successfully tackled a convertible top replacement as your first mod, I think you have "the knack"! :)

I have replaced the top too. Allow yourself 2-3 days and don't plan to use the car if shit crops up. Also use stainless staples and the OEM staples are incredibly short like 1/8" impossible to find. I used 1/4" stainless and then had to hammer them flat because they bottom out and stick up a little and will be noticeable through the fabric.
