Is this possible? I've done some major googling on this and seem to get seriously conflicting reports. I have a line on a catted bassani x-pipe locally for $100. It came off of a 2003 Mach 1. Will it fit my 97 Cobra? Minimal modifications?

The thought of buying a lightly used catted x-pipe for $100 versus a new one for $540 is very tempting, if I can make it work.

Yeah, itll work. The one I had on my gt originally came off a 97 cobra, then on my 98 gt, then on a 03 mach 1. The oxygen sensor locations are a little different between the years but itll work.

hell for that price I would buy it to flip even if it didn't fit. I thought I was nuts years ago when I came across a magnaflow catted-X with out a mark on it for $100. Had the thing 10 yrs now.

I already looked into it a bit deeper. It's their BX line, which is aluminized steel, not stainless. I really have no interest in the aluminized version. But this does help so I can broaden my search. Thanks!

All 96-04 mid pipes for any 4.6 motor are all the same. If Im not mistaken ford either added or deleted mid pipe mounts but thats the only difference.

The only difference is the transmission mounts are different which is why some will not fit because they interfere with that

OK, resurrecting this thread. I can get a nice used JBA catted x-pipe off a guy's 99 GT for $100. Will it fit my 98 GT with a manual tranny?
