Now he had replaced the charcoal canister.
I replaced the fuel cao. I used a Napa cap.
Is there a difference from one that is to fit my car and just buying a real motorcraft?

What next, are we thinking the fuel pipe grommet, the valve or sensor up front?

I've price checked, all are very cheap.

I checked the code, and cleared it.
Now to fix it.

This is where your diagnostic ability is put to the test. Inspect loose/cracked/dried hoses and fittings, check for signs of leaks in the evaporative system. This is more of a general fault then a part specific fault. Look in to dried or porous vacuum lines before finding an actual leak.

Checked canister, no resistance.
Hoses are good...not great, but good.
Grommet is in good repair.

Haven't tackled volt checking the flow sensor yet. waiting for the ability to make a fist...

But my one handed inspections are going ok..

Did you search before you made this thread? I commented on few p1443 threads over the years. What happens is that the sensor that is connected to a hose goes bad. I forgot what its called but it connects to the purge solenoid. This happened to me about 5-6 years ago. I kept replacing the solenoid but the code never went away until I replaced the sensor thats connected a long that line to the purge solenoid.

Sorry got all wrapped up in planning my build lately.
I went ahead and ordered the sensor.
It's been a few days but nothing yet.
Time will tell I suppose.

There was proper voltage going to it, the hoses were in good repair, and since he already replaced the canister, I figured the cheapest part first.

Sensors just get old and they have to be replaced. Mine looked in great shape as well but still went bad.
