Any differences between SN and New Edge cat back exhaust?

As the title says, does anyone know if there is any differences between the 94-98 cat back systems and the 99-04 cat backs? I thought they all fit 94-04, but the Borla part numbers on summit are different for an 01 and a 94 so I was curious if anyone knew anything as to why or if they will interchange?

probably just the hanger locations. Length wise is the same i believe.

Tailpipe hangers are different on the 98-04 catbacks, also the new edge cars use an additional hanger for the mufflers but you should be able to just use the upper one.

So all that would need to be changed is the hangers at the tips and I could switch the two cars? Length and shape and everything else is the same?

Yes, length and shape are the same. The hanger locations are different on the cat back and also on the mid pipe.

Is it just an extra lower hanger on the muffler as onyx said? And the upper muffler hanger is the same?

I have an sn95 cat back on mine. Your tips come out more narrow than the new edges.

When I put the GT bumper on mine, I'll need a new catback, or a good exhaust shop to rebend over the axle so it comes out wide like the new edges do.

Ok so if an SN GT cat back were on a new edge GT the tips would not sit in the recesses on the bumper like they should?

Yeah before i installed the new hangers for the mufflers i held the stock ones up and the top one would be the same. And I agree the new edge catback tips do come out wider. If you want to know a secret I have my tips being held up with zip ties that go around the bumper support lol.

Ok. Well here is my deal. I work at a Ford dealership. Someone just traded in a New Edge GT with a borla cat back on it. I may have a chance to swap my current cat back off my 94 with this one. The only thing is that the trade in will be going on our used car sale lot meaning what I put on the car, once I take the borla off, would have to look good so they can still sell the New Edge

nobody in the area selling a stock 99-04 catback? that would be the ideal to pick up cheap. I'm sure you could make the 94 catback look decent but you'll have to modify the tailpipe hangers and also spread the exhaust tips which depending how far they're off you may just be able to pull the mufflers to the sides a bit, but it wouldn't be ideal.

some kits are for both I believe. My Magnaflow kit is listed as a 94-98 ad comes with both sets of hangers so the cut off point is just not from 98-04 its kind of a gray area

if i had to guess it would be like this:

94-98 narrow talipipes
99-04 wider distance between tailpipes
94-97 perpendicular tailpipe hangers
98-04 parallel tailpipe hangers
99-04 have the extra muffler hanger
