I found a local giving up on a 94-95 GT project that was getting a Chevy 5.3 Conversion, he has almost everything to do to the conversion and he wants $3K so I thought I would pass it on since I have no time for me to finish it right now.
Cheap HP is the answer. I am not a fan of cross mixing but the LS swap is cheap and does make good power for not that much money.
I still call BS on the cheap part. There would be a lot more swaps if it was all that cheap. When em you see a swap, it's big HP. And thousands in the swap.
Fyi. The 5.3 truck engine+junkyard turbo swap is pretty popular because its cheap and with the updated headstuds holds boost very well which can often result in cheaper horsepower than even the ls1(5.7) swap. I cant see it being cost efficient in a sn95 though personally.
