Clearance is okay as is. It's just the fitment. There's a 1" spacer under the Sniper. It's amazing that it fits. I was just curious how tall the Amerihood hood is in the air cleaner area.

Well I went back to work on the hood fitment and I got is where it's livable. I had to raise the front fenders with washers to better line up the top of hood with the top of fenders.

The folks from HOF got back to me and recommended exactly what I just did. Great minds think alike. Great folks to deal with.

I looked at that hood but pin on would be a pain. I'm good now with the HOF hood. Wouldn't you know that my Redline hood struts brackets don't fit the shape of the hood.

probably going to be an option 4 inch is the tallest they make
3-2inch are popular but there every where and you would need like a 4 inch
when carbs are installed, no one thinks about hood clearance
i had a tunnel ram on my 460 the air cleaner was huge like the Shelby
and i needed a 5 inch only 1 company made that hood

I was always afraid to install those struts on a glass hood.
