My 95 has the shudder and it's getting worse. I changed the fluid and added the Dr. Tranny Shudder Fix. It helped a bit. I read somewhere what would be needed to put a later year trans in my car, but can't locate it again (of course).

What would be the best option and what needs to be changed over to make it play nice with my computer?

    thanks

    need a 5.0l 2wd exploder 4R70w.

you need to swap the tailshaft housing from your AODE to the 4R70w, as the driveshaft yoke bushing in the 4R tailshaft housing is too large.
You need a pre 97 torque converter control solenoid, shift solenoid, electronic pressure control solenoid (or re-pin the harness to fit the newer EPC), you'll also need a trans fluid temp sensor, and the bulkhead/wiring harness from the AODE trans.

Then of course, your computer will need to be recalibrated for proper shift points as well. the AODE and 4R70w do not share the same gear ratios.

No, but you'll want to do the "J-mod".
