This is my car a 1994 Mustang GT. It’s been my first and only Mustang. It belonged to my older cousin who I was very close with and sadly he lost his life back in 2009 in a car accident. When I found out he wanted me to have this car I decided to restore it back to its former glory. Here is a little background on the car. He bought it back in 1999 with 53k miles on it. As a young kid whenever I would travel to Washington for family gatherings for the holidays I would get to go cruising in it. Basically, I felt like the coolest person on the planet and I wanted one just like it. But he moved on to bigger and “faster” things and the car got parked in the driveway from 2003 to 2010. I almost bought it from him when I was 16 but I couldn’t afford the insurance, I almost bought it from him again in 2007 but I couldn’t afford what he was asking for it and it needed some work. I found out after he passed that he was planning on giving me the car and I received it in 2010. I felt it was my duty to restore it because it was looking pretty sad after sitting for so long in the Washington elements.

When I got the car it had 94k miles on it and the interior was in pretty good shape. The engine bay was pretty dusty put was in pretty good shape as well. The paint was starting to peel off and it hadn’t had a bath in who knows how long. I sold my 1998 VW GTI VR6 that was my first car to put together some money to get it back on the road. The very first thing I did was changed all the fluids and get it started. Luckily all it needed was a new battery to get started. The car didn’t feel like it had much power and the check engine light get coming on. I checked the codes and it said it was running lean. I bought some new oxygen sensors from Ford and it ran perfectly. Here is a list of things I have done on the car.

Detail work:
- Upper engine bay professionally washed and dressed.
- The Interior professionally shampooed and dressed.

Engine Maintenance:
- All the fluids changed
- New Radiator and thermostat
- New radiator cover decal
- K&N air filter.
- New battery
- MSD distributor cap with
- NGK G power platinum spark plugs
- OEM distributor wires with new coil
- Sanded and painted coil bracket
- Ford OEM Oxygen sensors
- New Adjustable Clutch Cable with Billet Quadrant

Suspension:

- Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates (already on car)
- Crossed drilled and slotted Rotors (already on car)
- H&R lowering springs (already on car)
- New monroe sensa trac shocks and struts
- New rear Cobra sway bar

Exterior:
- New Paint professionally sprayed. I kept the original black and buffed and waxed.
- Removed hood pins & filled holes
- Repaired stress cracks in front bumper
- Repaired dents
- New Coyote 5.0 badges and emblems
- Stainless steel bumper letter inserts.
- New headlights
- New taillights
- New reflector lenses

Interior:
- Windows tinted (already on car)
- New dash clock

Drivetrain:
-FRPP 3.55 gears (already on car)
-Rear differential fluid changed with gasket

Exhaust:
- BBK high flow catted x pipe
- Flowmaster super 44 series muffles
- 3 inch tail pipes

Wheels:
-17X8 OEM Tribar’s (Current)
-17x8 Bullitt’s
-17x8 94 Cobras (sold)

Yes, it is cool to be nominated among your peers for your work and end product up until now. Three good cars but there can only be one ROTM winner.

03DSGGT: 116mph in the quarter mile? Get the "F" out of here.....that is flying. Mods, more mods and even more mods. I didn't think your mods list was going to stop. Beautiful car, simply beautiful.

The5.ohh: At 16 I didn't have the maturity you have to own a car like that. Amazing job bringing your car to the level it currently sits and it must of been hard on limited funds. Great job.

Will: Great story and a great save for a Mustang that was deteriorating fast. I was impressed with the attention to detail that went into returning your car back to it's original look. Great job.

My vote is in.

Thanks for all of the kind words fellas. I've put a ton of work and money into the car over the years, and right when I think I'm at a good place with it I get more ideas popping into my head lol. It means a lot that you guys appreciate the hard work.

I've always been a little weird in the fact that I like getting into an older car and feeling like you are in a time capsule. You really get the sense of what the car was like back in that time period. It was a different time in America back in 1994. This car is special to me because of the history I have with it. The direction of the car I wanted to take with it wasn't your typical Mustang that you put a ton on modification and $ into. Yeah, it might not attract mass numbers of people but I find enjoyment out of the simplicity of it. It drives wonderful and when you think about a stock GT you think there's nothing special about them. But, you really get a sense driving around and never seeing another on the road like you. Clean stock early SN95 Mustangs are becoming an endangered species. I always pass Mustangs in my area that have a ton of modifications done to them. I rarely pass an older one that looks like it just drove off the dealer lot.

I do love modified cars, whether they are classic muscle, or new school domestic/imports. I have a passion for cars and appreciate the art and individualism that goes into them. I'm also a collector at heart and can appreciate when I come across something that you don't see every day. This car will always be special to me because of the history I have with it so it will never be one that I highly modify. I've gone through my ups and my downs with losing my cousin since he was such a close friend to me but his memory lives on just like all of ours will one day with our loved ones and the people who know us. At the end of the day life goes on and you got to keep moving forward.

As for ROTM. Like I said above just being nominated has made my whole year. I've never been to a car show with my car or let alone been nominated for Ride Of The Month on a Mustang Forum so this is pretty cool. the5.ohh, I remember your car when you first started and give you major props for getting it to this point. I've enjoyed following your progress. 03DSGGT, it seems like you have spared no expense with all of the modifications you have done. Great work! Thanks again for those of you who felt it worthy of me to be among these guys. :headbang:

I voted for Will. Really like what he's doing with that car. I like how everything looks OEM. It reminds me of mine back in the day.

Having a nice car is also nice... since it's ride of the month. Don't count too much on post count to get nominated.
