July 2013 - ROTM - Willis_98GT

A special Thanks goes out to TMI Products for supporting our ROTM Contests!!!

This month's winner is a bad-ass straight from the depths of HELL..... Willis and Trigger!

You all may remember the incredible voting we had last month.... well Yours truly closed the voting thread when there were two epic rides TIED! Instead of a prolonged vote-off, we decided that we'd jsut make both of these great rides a winner! Willis_98GT has been a long-time member of our community, and I'm thrilled to see him up here! Well deserved!

Now, because this was a tie... I've decided to have us all vote on our favorite aspects of Willis' ride! Check it out here:

First off, before i even begin to talk about my car i want to talk about this forum and what it means to me. This place isn't a forum to me. Its a bond, We all share the same things, and i love that. The point of these is to bring enthusiasts together that share one thing, dispersed over many many many different styles and perfections. I've met many people over the last Six Years (god damn that's crazy that its even been that long) That I'm still in touch with to this day, one phone call away for what i need. That's something that just can't be achieved threw any other smaller base forum. I have always loved the support, and paying it forward to the newer members on the site when they go to make their builds (KCCO) . You guys ****ing rock and for that i'll always be here. Even if i sell Trigger, like a few people have stayed around not even owning SN's anymore.

All threw high school a 1994-1998 was my dream car. I used to love attending our local Dallas/Fort Worth Streetraces and checking out all the crazy mustang builds. We still to this day have some of the fastest builds in the Country. Most of the Sn bodies were 5.0s that were built and stroked to hell and back and just hearing them scream was so provokingly contemplative to me. My father had sold my car that i had in high school and part of my graduation present was 2000$ for a down payment on whatever i wanted. In my small city where i was living i walked a half a mile to work and back every day and just banked the money. When i was 19 I finally started digging my teeth deep into auto traders and etc etc. Went and looked at a lot of different cars, test drives blah blah and nothing seemed to hit me like it should.

One day i was going to see a movie with one of my best friends and we were going down one of the bigger highways in Texas in his truck and that's where i saw My BAB. It was sitting up on one of those High up display racks that usaully sit in corners on used car lots. looked shiny as hell and immediately got my attention. I screamed turn this mother-****er around to him and he busted a 180 in the middle of a six lane highway thinking something crazy had happened i just told him to pull in there pointing at the dealer. I ran as fast as i could up to the rack and jumped up on the drivers side looking threw the glass praying it was a 5 speed and saw the stick shift and that was it. walked the car over with a fine tooth comb. It was after hours so they were closed so i couldn't talk to anyone or anything. But i pulled up the internet listing, wasn't even put up two hours before we saw it and read up on it etc etc. The next day i went up there and laid the Cash down. Had a intense negotiation with the dealer because the guy that had it before me wired up the radio backwards so nothing worked. and the only other thing wrong with it was a small tick that i traced to the sandwhich donut gasket on the passenger side, that many of you guys have changed i'm sure. they wanted 11,995 for it. it had 41,xxx on the clock, one owner car that had knocked his wife up and traded it for a surburban. Stock down to the air intake box and had nothing but a flowmaster catback on it and lowering springs. I talked them down to 10,000 because of the "issues" and put my 2000$ down. walked off the lot for 8K. in March of 2007

Day one pic.

When i began to search for what to do and what route to take i googled up this forum. Immediately i was greeted and welcomed. I studied builds and made bonds and slowly started buying parts. Rick and Javi have really taken care of me throughout the years to name a few instances. Nothing is ever forgotten!

I'll go over the mods now.

I never had big goals for this car just wanted something unique with some great N/A power. I think I've covered that finally what do you guys think?

What Makes It Unique

Everything, The color changing paint, the blackchrome wheels with the blue color. I've never seen another SN with it and i'm glad to retain that image. I often have to explain the seats too, most people think they're completely custom before i flip the backs and show ford racing stamps. Its sound is unlike any other too. Zero Rasp 100% Depth. The uneven raise cowl brings a spark to the front end because everyone has traditional cowls that have even lips in them, and lastly the 99/04 Axles extend my wheels properly and safely make them hang out a smidge on each side, revealing that classic Muscle Look. Which is exactly what i wanted. The idle is Streetable and Wicked, Most argue me that its a 4.6 usauly concluding in me opening the hood to prove the points. I often get told that they've never heard a 4.6 2v idle like mine.

Future Plans

Man i don't know honestly, my mind changes constantly like i'm sure lots of yours do too. I'm always thinking of ideas. For now though i'm just going to cruise it. As many of you guys know i've been threw hell and back with my car this last year or so and its time to rock this summer, wax some ass on the streets and attend many meets and shows and Go after some shows that are coming up. I also landed a Evolution motorsports Full length subframe set with the X brace. one of the rarest Subframe kits there is, going to weld that on. Also contemplating a turbo 4v setup, then again who isn't? lol. I would like to find a t-56 soon too. i want that 6th gear for highway mpgs, with college around the corner this thing is going to drink gas in 5th on long highway voyages for my education.. :angry7:

I'm choosing to feature three pics and one video. The Day one pic you saw, one from my most recent shoot of the rear end, and one of my sig shot in full res. Ending with a open cutout idle video.

Thank you guys so much for the opportunity to run.

Well-deserved win. Dude's been to hell and back with this car and it's always been one of my favorites on this site.

Nice name-check on rick and Javi, that's going back a ways, they were some of the guys who really made this place what it is. Rick's workout threads were great reads.

Love the ride and the story, and more than anything the gratitude towards the forum and the car itself!
Congrats on the win - PM me your address and I'll get the $100.00 gift certificate heading your way.
Since you've already got rockin' seats up front - ideas for the gift certificate could be a black suede molded headliner and sunvisor set?? or maybe a custom rear seat to match the front buckets?
Let me know if you've got any questions - and if you'll be at MW next week - stop by the TMI tent down by Latemodel Resto's arena - I'll be down there thurs-sat.

Thanks Bro, and yeah dude i really used to love reading them. and the photoshopped shovel pictures. i'll text him and tell him to pop in and write on this thread. I'll never forget the things the two of them have done for me in the past. Trigger wouldn't be half the car it is without their support and brotherhood

Yeah Focks lives about a hour or so from me now. I couldn't be happier about his marrige, from what i've heard he has a pretty sweet girl and it seems right.

Javi threw in his 5.0 but also really seems to love his Mazda, he has family close to me and he used to just drop in my doorstep when he was around literally. Not in a while though

congrats! WELL DESERVED!

Thanks Brother!!

Thanks Tony!! We will rock the calender together

There was a tie between Willis_98GT and Venom351R last month, so there was no voting this time around.

I've never seen anything like that before, Just the participation overall it was 45 votes total i believe.

Got ya covered on the pm, and thank you. I've had many close calls over the years and even crashed it with my Viper remote. I seriously pamper this car and always will. I'll be a hell of a husband one day.
