Ash Tray Door Fix

Anyone know of a fix for the ashtray door? MavroMont makes a good one for the Fox but I haven't seen anything for my '96.

I got the same thing on my wifes 95gt. Its there but doesnt open right.

Do you guys smoke? use your ashtrays? if not i remember seeing a delete kit that mounted switches/toggles there...can't remember where but i'm sure someone like upr or someone has a kit.

I don't need the switches, but I've seen a cup (maybe 2?) holder in that spot. Maybe that's a console fron a newer year?

That console is the 98 console which I was gonna do but it was 250 bucks!

FETS you can get them way cheaper on ebay. If I end up keeping mine I will be getting one from a 98+ and paint it to match.

$250?!?

I love pick-a-part junk yards! I got a shift surround with the leather boot and the power port door works! Only $5 for about $150 worth of stuff.

I'll start looking for '98 consoles.

its 98+ consoles. Only people that could only use 98 is with black interior...after 98 they went with the off grey color to replace black. Although, I am looking for any color, and will dye it to match.

well you guys could do what i did my buddy wreaked his 98 and i went an grabed his cupholder since it clips on. Then I cut my ash tray and lidt out and installed it looks like this now.
