B&M hammer install

Installing a hammer shifter in my 97 gt. I was pulling out the old shifter and the one thing thats holding me up is a cable attaching to the front of the shifter. What is it and how do you disconnect this? I can't see how it comes off for the life of me. ( its not the shifter cable) goes directly into the front of the shifter

That's the only thing I can think of. But he says cable which threw me off. Should be a shifter cable and 2 illumination and 2 od wires

It could be that shift cable its sort of a ball that is under shifter and is part of the shifter
Then a thick cable connects to that ball to the linkage on tranny
Thats also what he may be talking about
1 cable 2 wires on the shifter assembly
