Hello everyone I just recently bought a 95 GT 5.0 5 speed as my first car. it has a bbk cold air intake, MSD pro billet distributor, bbk long tube headers, full exhaust and it sounds like it might have a mild cam I don't really know much other than that. It surges at idle but is fine while driving. I would like to give it some more power so I was thinking about getting a bama tuner as well as 3.55 rear gears. If anyone has suggestions please let me know, thanks.

Had a Bama tune once from American Muscle back in 2009, whom I'll never do business with again (separate issue in recent years).

They had my car running a bit too lean, luckily it was just a simple N/A build. But I've never heard anyone say good things about their tunes. Now that I've got a lot of years experience, the only tuners I trust implicitly are Palm Beach Dyno and Wengert (associated with HPR in Tennessee). Lund is highly spoken of but I can't vouch.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely wait and get a dyno tune. I don't want any added complications since it's running pretty good right now and I don't have the funds to fix any mistakes lol.

I just have to find a good shop that will do it for a reasonable price here in Florida.

They're all competitively priced about the same for the most part. It's a relatively simple configuration so you might be able to get it done with a remote tune. If you don't mind the drive and want it done right the first time, Palm Beach Dyno. Not sure if the EEC-IV / V computer can be remote tuned or datalogged, not my domain.

I had a bama chip. All my options were in their pulldown menu so I was confident that it should work I was just using trickflow heads/cam which have been used since they were making the 94 new so it should be known. The car ran horribly but I was barely able to limp it to a local place with a dyno to tune it. Ran perfect on the way home.

Welcome.

FWIW, PBD got my coyote swap motor purring like a kitten on the first go. A very simple, very common N/A build but it shows that they got the tune refined quite nicely.

Palm beach dyno is about three hours from me but it's not like I can get it done right now anyway. I have to wait till April to register and insure the car to get it there and I have plenty other things to do. I have to finish all the body work and figure out if Im gonna paint or wrap it. So I have time to do some research on everything and get it all figured out so I'm not all over the place when I can actually get to everything.
