So I have an intake off an explorer, with intentions of sending it to Tmoss. Have the elbow, a different throttle body, can't remember the size. I bought 24 lb injectors forever and a day ago. And have some 3 bar GT40 heads, that came with those OEM 1.7 rockers. No MAF yet.

Have not bought a cam yet, bouncing between a Steeda 19, or a TFS1, or even an E cam idk.

But should I stick with the 1.7? Switch back to 1.6? Any input is appreciated.

Rocker ratios change valve operation points and cause more valve float. In my opinion, keeping the lower ratio and bringing in the valve spring lbs to control float is best. This way strain on the rocker assembly is reduced and can survive for thousands of miles.

Yes the higher ratio opens the valve more, but only for a breif section of the cam. Average lift and maximum average lift flow is where the power is.

I would choose the cam with drivability and set the exhaust valve up to float at high rpm.
