Okay, so are the equal length's shorties, or longtubes? If they are shorties, you probably won't see much improvement, if any. If they are longtubes, you will see more of an improvement, but still not a lot. Open up the breathing a bit for the top end, you'll see more of an improvement.
Edit: Oh, and you might as well install them. Unless they are shorties and you want to re-sell them and buy longtubes. Up to you, and what your expectations of the results might be. If they are shorties, do not expect much.
