I have 17x11 rims in the rear, and it's currently wearing 285/40 tires. What's the biggest I can go without going too wide, or is 285 the optimum for that size rim? :disturbed:
Everyone I know runs a 315/35 on the 10.5 inch wide rims. What kind of rims are you running? The backspacing & offset will play a big part in this.
315's and a little baseball bat fender rolling action. They fit, and fit well with just a little massaging to the inner rear fenders with a big hammer.
They are Simmons FR (from Australia). Unfortunately, I don't know the offset and backspacing are, but I think there's more room in there. What I'm afraid of is that the sidewall will be in an angle if the tire is too wide.
You can fit a 335 on stock fenders without any work apart from a roll. Of course that's with the right offset.
I got my wheels/tires off of craigs list with 17" semisuckos 335's on them. They fit but would rub on hard corners and made it no fun since they not only had no traction but then would not allow you to corner fast anyway.
