My buddy asked me to detail his truck. It is a sweet truck, and needed some love.

Full detail and being black it took some time, but was way worth it.
It had a few scuffs I had to take care of and was pretty swirled, especially on the hood/front.

basic process:
Wash
Clay
Polish
Rotary polish scuffed areas. I think there were 6 spots that needed the heat.
Polished again agressive.
Polish again light.
Polished the hood 2 more times, you'll see the pics.
Glaze
Jetseal, 2 coats.
Obsessive Detail - Wet Obsession wax

The spread:

about here it started raining, so I washed it and pulled it inside.

Some type of overspray and crap on the horizontal surfaces.
this is from half of the center of the hood area. about a 2' x 1.5' area.

Clay.jpg

The paint on the hood and front was softer than the stock panels.
it was very swirled and scuffed up on the hood, front and sides of the front fenders.

This is washed/dried!

I used a few.
Scratch and swirl of the first go,
Then I used CG Pro Polish 3n on the scuffs with a ROTARY and a standard orange pad, lake city I think.
then the whole truch with the Orbital on an orange hex pad.

the hood, top of the front bumper and front side fenders I had to polish 2-3 more times. it was bad.

I can totally empathise with the 32 hours you put on that black porche.
I have 24 hours in this job.

edited - was tired

Thanks guys!

What's up with hatin' on my sandals?
lol, you guys are funny. there's almost 40 pictures here and you don't like my sandals shown in the reflection of 1 picture.
For the record, this was after a 9 hr work day, and 5 hrs of polishing. I was tired and sweaty, and yes, was wearing sandals, and a dew rag because I need a haircut.

Detailing in Sandals FTW. Its easier when your sandals get wet instead of your shoes. My garage is carpeted so I detail barefoot and in my PJ's more than often lol
