EDIT: SEE POST #9 FOR PART 2

Now that Ohio is finally coming out of hibernation, I was able to get the car cleaned up from all the work I've been doing.

This winter I finished my suspension and re-did most of the interior as follows:

Suspension: Replace lower control arms that I was not able to get out when I first did the suspension work.
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/ab64/blackdestroyer/interior build/1393198097056.jpg

Add subframe connectors and a little undercoating for that wonderful ohio rust.

Interior: Tearing out the old.

Some nasty holes in floor pan need fixing.

Also installed a roll bar.

Now we can put the new interior in.

Time for that bath.

I know it's not most people's style but I did add a couple accessories.
Say what you will, won't hurt my feelings at all.

Also replaced all 4 brake calipers, e-brake cables, egr valve and iac valve.

Part 2 to come - hopefully next winter's project - re-build and forge the motor.

Great job so far! I like the seats and bar.
The lighting isn't my favorite, but your car!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Not too shabby for a beginner, really have to thank my buddy's dad for helping me with the welding.

PART 2

Hey everyone, finally getting some warmer weather here in Ohio.
Part 2 of the build is underway - not a re-build and forge yet, but such is life.

Working on pulling the motor for a couple of reasons.
1) Oil pan started leaking and needs replaced.
2) Picked up a set of Windsor PI components :)

Also found that my fuel return line is leaking, therefore I'll be replacing the entire system.
Going to sump the tank and mount and external pump.
Pretty sure I'm going to go with this system: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aei-17141
Should be sufficient for my future plans.

I think I'm almost ready to pull the motor now.

I have the following done - please let me know if I missed anything (98 GT convertible - pulling motor and tranny 5 speed)

1) Removed driveshaft and exhaust midpipe.
2) Removed shifter (T45)
3) Drained all fluids
4) Removed battery and electrical connections
5) Removed air intake
6) Removed radiator and hoses
7) Removed clutch line
8) Disconnected (1) body ground
9) Unbolted power steering pump and reservior
10) Motor mounts and transmission crossmember loose

Need to disconnect fuel lines and main wiring harness next, then I believe I am ready.

Stay tuned.

I think it's more of a friendly reminder so you don't forget to unplug that sensor and rip the wires out/off when you yank the motor out.

Alright, making progress. Motor is out, tore down and ready for some TLC.

Buddy helping me with the tear down.

New parts need a good cleaning but almost ready for assembly.

Once the motor goes back together, I can get started on the fuel system.

Alright, so a quick update on things before the pictures.

Had to put the car on a temporary hold due to me trying to build a house. So far everything there is looking good.
Loan should be approved in the next couple of weeks. After that I'll know exactly where I'm at money wise and can finish purchasing all the fuel system components.

With that said, I have made some progress on the pi swap for the motor.
Really looking forward to getting this all back together and on the road, so I can enjoy what little summer we get here in Ohio.

Engine bay painted

MHS Stage 2 cams

Used the playdoh method for checking piston to valve clearance before putting on new gaskets and getting the motor all back together.

Motor looks much better with paint.

Still have some accessories and such to paint, before I button up the rest of the motor, but things are coming along nicely.

Few more items painted and added to the motor.
Good news on the house - sign papers this Friday.
Hopefully I can buy the fuel system parts soon and get this beast back on the road.
