Work of art OMG... I'm in love!! Cant wait to get mine done. I just hope to make that much power and I love your car its super sexy and has some really amazing touches to it that make it different and top notch for sure. Im working on mine all day today and it's going back on the dyno next week. I was going to go with aftermarket hood but I had one on my foxbody fly up and scare the shit out me so i went with just a OEM cobra hood but i love that hood and the car looks better IMO with the s281 wing. How do you like the T56 compared to the 5 speed? There kinda hard to get use to IMO but its nice to get 25mph on the hwy with one. Also sorry if i missed it already but what size injectors are you running?

Sweet build man. Are you just losing weight to make it faster. Or are you trying to go faster at the track?

I've lost a hood as well and that's why I will not go without hood pins. The T56 is night and day difference compared to my T5 plus I love having that extra gear for cruising. I'm running Deka 60lb injectors.

Race weight with me in it is 2888

Holy shiat, that's light!

Car Weighed:

I finally got the car weighed as I was super curious and had know idea where I stood with all the changes. Considering there's been some serious beef added - Dart block, Turbo system w/intercooler, T56, complete Fuel system, heavy Saleen wheels etc. it was lighter than I thought but there's certainly room for improvement. I got give my buddy, Dennis a shout out for coming to my place and giving me a great baseline. Dennis is a LEO and a Commercial Motor Vehicle Specialist. He's also a licenced mechanic, car buff and has done his share of drag racing, so he get's it.

The car got weighed at each corner using 4 brand new portable scales that have a certified calibration. We weighed the car twice. First, on its own and then with me in it.

As it sits with 5/8’s tank of gas yielded the following:

Total w/out driver ---> 3,410 lbs

Total with driver -----> 3,595 lbs

I then took the data points and created the below charts on Excel. Its interesting to see how the drivers weight is dispersed throughout the vehicle!

Mounted the Cobra fog lights and must say the front end looks more complete. They were only 2lbs total with brackets.

Also, installed the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter handle. He's a chunky bugger at .5lb Lol.

Total weight gain = +2.5 lbs :D

For my reference = 3,412.5 lbs

I think its really cool how the rear of the car was evenly weighted, even with the battery on the passenger side.

You happen to have any pictures of the intercooler and piping. Also did you have to modify the fog light brackets any?

Here's a pic of the intercooler and piping. The fog light brackets required no modification but it was super tight on the passenger side.

Weight Reduction: -12.5 lbs

Decided to fully gutt the trunk and remove some brackets that were holding the plastic blocks. I continued with the same theme and blacked out & undercoated the panels. Also, in post #420, I noted an increase of .5 lb for the hurst pistol grip shifter handle, but I forgot to weigh the handle coming out which was also .5 lb so that's a wash.

I'm weighing and tracking everything and as it stands the car is 3,400 lbs.

I got the trunk finished up and the hardest part of the job was removing the waxy undercoating. I removed all the panels, taped up the battery box and scuffed it really good. I painted a base coat of flat black paint and then decided to spray the trunk with a truck bed coating. I used the same stuff that I used on my tank cover which I really liked. The stuff is very durable, provides a non-skid surface, doesn't smell and will add a bit of sound dampening. I'm happy with it and it looks way better than the above pic.

Sprayed as deep as I could into the 1/4 panels and tucked all the wires as neatly as possible

Prior to re-installing the battery box, I cut a small piece of trunk carpet matching the size of the bottom of the battery box to help absorb any vibration.
