Im trying to get braided steel brake hoses for my 1998 v6 mustang. The places I want to buy from only list a kit for a gt. If I search for regular rubber ones it lists the same part for the gt and v6. Is this just because companies dont like listing performance parts for non performance cars? Or is there really a difference. In other words will the steel hoses listed for the gt fit my v6? Same brakes in 98, no?

Which kit are you looking at? Calipers and rotors are the same.

Fronts:

Rears:

J&M differentiates between 94-95 and 96-98 rears for some reason. The fronts listed for 94-98, and obviously the Cobra 94-98 are different. I know the 94-95 GT has a 5th line over the axle, but the 99 GT I did the rear end did not have one over the axle. Do you know if you have a brake line over the rear axle?

I think it's safe to say the "GT" branded ones will fit, call the manufacturer to be 100%.

Ah, sweet. Thanks for finding that. Its strange how so many places dont list it for the base v6.
