This is Lucy, The Great Green Shark. My 1998 mustang gt. And we’ve got big plans for her.

So it’s first and foremost a street car, fun to drive on weekends, but I want more power, and better cornering and acceleration for launches. If I like drag racing better I’ll build it into a drag car in the future, same for auto cross drifting, track, etc. but it’ll probably always stay on the street.

When I got the car, I discovered a blown head gasket from the PO, and then my dumbass crashed it, screwed up the transmission, snapped the axle, and most of all, killed my pride.

So we got a new built 4r70w from Darrin at bc auto out in Indianapolis. (I’m in VA, that was a fun road trip). A PTC high stall converter, 31 spline axles and ford performance LSD, and 3.73 gears. That’s the rear.

Exhaust is going to be a some kooks long tubes I picked up on market place, along with an aftermarket h pipe with high flow cats, probably a muffler delete and that’ll be that.

Engine… oh boy, we just took it out, I’m tearing it down next weekend and praying to whatever god may exist that theres no water in the cylinders. Blocks going to the machine shop, I’ve got a pair of rebuilt PI heads, and plans to get tfs 2001 cams, a 75 mm accufab throttle body, and an ATI dampener. If I need new internals, I’m gonna future proof it for boost and get a forged rotating assembly (mostly Manley, probably). Also plan to get tfs 44cc heads in a couple of years, but not yet.

Suspension… you can read my other threads on that, currently going insane. But I’m set on eibach sway bars (I need to at least replace the front sway bar because we bent it pulling it into the shop, so I figured I’ll get the package and replace em both) and an mm torque arm and panhard bar, and mm subframe connectors. I’ve also got 18/8.5 annovia wheels.

Cosmetics… I’m putting together a body kit, something like the 95 summit quikstang but with my own spin, and (this is important) ACTUALLY DRIVES . That’s last of course, but I’m excited to show you guys what I’ve got in store.

Anyways that’s my build I’m Ansharky, thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Feel free to leave any opinions, hate, or suggestions!

Edit: my bad, I probably should have posted this thread to projects and builds, I didn’t know how else to give an introduction lol.

Welcome to the stable, Ansharky! Excellent Intro; very entertaining and well written. Your enthusiasm is obvious and based on your build plans, Lucy should be quite nice! Looking forward to getting updates on her progress, so definitely start a build thread as Bronco2 suggested as we all live pictures.

Regarding front suspension: may I suggest upgrading it from the center outward? Do your research and decision-making starting with the K- member as there are limitations with stock vs (for example) a MM K-member that affect all the other combinations of the ancillaries compatible with each. So basically decide on what style you want for this version (street? Strip? Autocross) you want and stick to that. Maybe get some initial research info by doing Searches in the Suspension forum. Sending Warhorse Racing a PM wouldn’t hurt, either (wink, wink, nudge, nudge!) but there are TONS of other members who have amazing setups of all types of driving as well, so don’t hesitate asking.

You touched on “hate” feedback. You likely won’t see blatant replies of that nature as the Members here respect each person’s build choices. Very good and very knowledgeable people here! Cheers!!

Could you elaborate on that?
