So this week I picked up a vortech V2 non-intercooled kit. I found a guy selling his entire kit for a steal so I had to jump on it. He basically did what I planned to do, and that was piece together a kit using classifieds and superchargersonline.com. I got literally everything I need in this kit except for a dyno tune, and wideband/boost gauges. I also plan to swap out the vortech air inlet assembly for a power pipe. Everything is brand new except for the headunit. The seller said it only had a few dyno pulls on the head unit since the rebuild from vortech but who knows. It looks mint so I'm happy with it

A little trick to polishing cast aluminum. Take a dermal and a steel wire wheel brush to the housing. Cleans up quick. Cover up the criticals to keep out debris.

I started wire tucking. I wanted to do some of this before I pulled the engine so I could see where everything is currently running

For anybody that wants to attempt a wire tuck, I'll be more than glad to help. While the manual helps, it by no means lays it out for you step by step. It basically tells you what needs to be done, but doesn't tell you how to do it. I thought it was weird cause it would go in great detail on some of the really simple things, but glaze over the harder stuff. Anyway, got the majority of it done. Still need to tuck the rear engine harness but I need to wait to do that once the PI engine goes back in

Random question, does anybody know what these two things are behind the grill and if they can be removed? Airbag related? Idk

Also started shaving the valve covers on the PI engine. I don't know why more people don't do this to the stock covers

I like those covers, good job. Are you going to weld in some scott rod panels when the engine comes out?

Thats what I assumed. I guess its better to leave those there? I would really love to pull them out. It would be a much cleaner look for the grill area

Subscribed! Is your exterior paint "KM" "Moonlight Blue"?

Yessir you are correct.

Yes, as of right now, that is the plan!

Also, does anyone have a good suggestion to where I could get all of my gaskets/seals/pullies? I want good quality or OEM gaskets and seals for the PI engine, as well as new pullies for the timing cover

Ive never had any problems with the felpro stuff from the parts houses. Ive even used the cheapest ebay gaskets I could find and they worked out great also.

Felpro works fine. Luckily our engines used the rubber type seals which is much better than the paper cork gaskets. If you have any questions on your wire tuck let me know. Its one of those things where you can kind of decide how you want to run stuff as you go. I've done two wires tucks, 1 on my 95gt and 1 on my 98 and both I did a little differently. Also those valve covers are looking good!

I think I ordered my entire engine gasket set from rock auto.

Nice. Thanks man. Ill look into rock auto. Did you get fel-pro stuff from there?

And I'm done with the passenger side wire tuck, and I've got everything on the drivers side out of the engine bay, but I still have to mount the fuse box and run all the wires. I still need to get a battery relocation too

Yeah they carry felpro stuff. The only thing I didnt get felpro on was the valve cover gaskets as I bought those later at my local auto parts store.

Question...Whats the best way to remove the harmonic balancer on the PI engine thats not in the car? Breaker bar turns the engine and my impact wouldnt budge it. The only thing I know to do is try a stronger impact gun??

2 bolts in the back of the crank where the flywheel goes, put a pry bar between the two bolts and hold the crank while you break the balancer bolt loose.
