Finally got my gears installed the other day!! I went with ford racing 4.10's, also got the bearings done as well. I got them installed at a local driveline shop that specializes in rear ends and transmissions. I paid $400 canadian for the install and they did a great job, no whineing at all!!! The only bad thing was I needed a new pinion flange and ford had it at the distribution centre in town but they wouldn't let me pick it up locally so I had to wait a day to get my car back. It's still a bit icy outside but the highway has some dry parts, I felt a huge difference at all speeds !!! It "feels" like I gained like 50 horsepower!! Anyways thanks for everyones input, now I just got to get my speedcal installed and my h&r sport springs as well. :thumb:

Good job, it took my two times to figure out that 4.10s are the way to go. I went from 3.08 to 3.55 to 4.10..... :slap:

I love my 4.10's also.... As for the speed-cal install, took me and my son 30 mins to do that. Its an easy job, just take your time and it will go well.

I had gone with 3:90s myself and am happy with the results as well, but as far as the speedcal goes, it helped me to read the instructions online (colored pics) while looking at the contents of the box to get things straight. I had my stang on ramps and was able to do the install fairly easily that way. You will have alternate from being in the car to underneath, back in the car, so the ramps helpe me there.

Congrats, wait until you get used to the car, then you're going to wish you went with 4.30's..

I was happy with the extra acceleration from my FRPP 4.10's even
though I got horrible MPG with them.

No,my foot was only in it sometimes.
The higher rpm's is what ruined my MPG.
I wish I had went with FRPP 3.73's because I was having to
put gasoline in my car alot.

glad to hear it man. 3.73's going in mine this coming week.didn't want the lost mpg with 4.10's, so i chose the 3.73. it's all in what you want though.

i think i am going to go with 3.73 gears with my auto. just because 1. gas mileage, 2. prolly gunna swap to a 5 speed later, 3. still does the job.

I went from 3.08 to 3.73 since it's my daily driver for my 100 mile round trip, but the difference is pretty significant and gas mileage doesn't appear to suffer much IF you keep your foot out of the gas. It's really hard to though...
