Camaro Z28 vs The BAB

Buddy has a Camaro Z28 with the bolt ons...(full exhaust/intake/some other chit)

Ran a 12.8 in it at the track....

We were on the highway going about 55...I was in 3rd gear....


I looked at him and told him to take the move...

He hit it... and I did as well...... I get up to about 5000 rpms and I shift to 4th...ride out 4th till about 5000 rpms again......


I was probably 3 + cars ahead? Not too sure. I was more focused on the road than his car.. but I was a pretty good ways up. O0


Atleast it's more respectable than a stock hemi charger. :hammer:

No times in the Cobra yet.. Previous owner ran a 12.2 with street tires , pre built motor, pre intercoooler.

Should be... I got 26/11.5/17 ET Streets (not the radial ones) and like I said above it's intercooled... with a built motor.

Honestly, with this shitty gas.. I'm hoping for 11.8s.


When I get to the states... get a retune on higher boost.

Well I did play with my friends 03 Cobra... from the same roll as the Z28.... I didnt pull him as bad as the Z28... (in his defense he has just an intake/exhaust set up for now)


We didn't really honk it off and go... kinda just went with the flow...

Yea, I'm going to try and stay away from the highway racing..
Car has 4.10 gears and is pretty much ready for a quarter mile racing.

not the best on the highway but can hold its own.

Good kill. Must have been a stock LS1 or a non driver. Bolt on LS1's run anywhere from low 12's to high11's and the FI ones can be nasty.

It is a LS1... it's an auto but it's built auto I am pretty sure.

And with intake/header/exhaust set up...

My buddies TA with 4.10s, eagle F1s and some bolt ons will run low 12s...

a stock geared LS1 ain't gonna run 11s stock... lol

Ok, your 1 friend shouldn't be the basis of your view. Stock LS1's have hit 12's as Evan Smith the editor for Muscle Mustangs and fast fords has driven 2 LS1's into the 12's bone stock.

I know a few that have ran 11's with just bolt ons. I never said they will run 11's stock. Infact I know of atleast 25 that have ran 11's with bolt ons.

i started to counter point Greg, but he said " a stock geared LS1 ain't gonna run 11s stock... lol" so does he mean a Stock Ls1 ?? Or a Ls1 with the stock rear end but with other bolt on parts :dunno: :dunno:

Anyway I am aware of them running 12's right off the show room floor, and with a few extra hp I can see them hitting 11's with the STOCK REAR END GEAR :boink:

The A4's are less prone to the shock of the drivetrain verse a M6 and some have gone 11's with a stock 10 bolt. I also have a friend who went 11.9's with a 4.10 geared 6 speed 10 bolt too.
