Changing engines....whats needed

My car is rollin over 180k, im sure its not gunna last forever, i plan on switching from the sohc 4.6 to the Cobra Dohc 4.6 of the same year(97), what does it take to do this engine swap? Would i need a ecu out of a cobra? What all is needed for this swap?

your probably gonna need the ecu to control the imrc plates...i'd get as much from the donor car as possible just incase. Also you have an auto which has a 6 bolt crank and the cobra has an 8 so if your keeping the auto you need an 8 bolt flexpate.

i would be buying just a new cobra engine, from jasper, so id have to find me a flexplate and ecu off ebay or sumthin

How much would the engine from Jasper be? Is it fully rebuilt?

a jasper cobra engine is about 3500 i believe, but my dad works with them, so would probbly get a little better deal

Good luck on the swap,
you'll need the computer and all that wiring, also the fuel system might be different.
I don't know all the details.
