Cobra Brake Caliper Pin Too Tight?

I have cobra calipers, brackets and pads. When I try to insert the caliper pin into the bracket to hold the caliper in place, it is very difficult to push in; even with grease I had to tap it in with a mallet. Now that it is in, it is so tight that the caliper isn't able to slide and will not fit over the rotor, as the caliper cannot float into place. How tight are these caliper pins supposed to be?? I am worried that even if I do get the calipers on the rotors that the brakes will stick.

I have gone to the auto parts store and tried different pads and pins to no avail. Any ideas?

You didn't pound the pin through the hole in the pads right?
