My 96 GT was throwing a code so I got it checked out and it turns out it was an o2 sensor. The tuner said it was in Bank 1 Sensor 2.... This would be the passenger side wouldn't it? Also, I figured the 2 meant the sensor is the one toward the rear of the car not the one up by the headers..... am I correct? Anyway, I replaced the o2 sensor and disconnected the battery and let it sit for about 4-5 minutes. Well, the check engine light was off for about 20 miles or so then it came back on.... did I do something wrong? I've heard something about the computer has to go through 2 cycles to completely reset but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me out, this CEL is pissin me off. Thanks in advance.
Honestly man I don't know. The day I got my car was the an off road xpipe went in. I have had my MIL eliminators on for a little over a year now not had a light thrown. Do you still have the stock h pipe or is it an offroad pipe? If it is an off road pipe then you will have to get the MIL eliminators. Josh
