cylinder head prep

alright how should i prep these heads to kinda clean them up before i put them on? some brake cleaner? they're are a little rusty and charred and was wondering what the best way to clean them up would be.

Oven cleaner works wonders on dirty grimy motors and parts. Just spray on and let sit for a while then wipe off and repeat if you have too. But for god sakes use gloves b/c it will eat through your hands.
