OK, so this cross brace on the front of the car - it's right where I want the radiator to go....
i've changed everything else under the car, might as well do this too and call it the norm.

Nothing fancy, I cut it out and reinforced the ends to be mounting points for the bolt on supports for the radiator and front end stuff.

Thanks guys.

Thanks Firefighter,
I was looking at the thermal arc verson like this one at my welding supply store, and found this one online for about half what they were asking.
Looking at the casing and specs, the Thermal, tweco and others are the same unit. I found a good deal that included the tig torch.
I've only tried out the Mig, got it dialed in yesterday and did a few test passes. it welds better than the buzz box I had before.

One thing that I think helps with the price is this model runs on 220 single phase only, not 110/220 like the more expensive versions of the same case.
I don't need to take it mobile for work, so the 220 plug suits me just fine.

Will give more feedback as I use it more.

Cool, I have a dedicated single 220 in my garage so that would work nicely. I currently just have a basic Hobart 110 MIG that is fine for exhaust and that stuff but I'd like to be able to become more proficient at TIG. Then be able to get into some more complicated, heavy duty welding such as building my own cage and chassis work. The 110 just is not smart/safe for that stuff, and I hate borrowing my buddy's welder for the bigger stuff.

Yes, I'll be using most of it!

I am glad that I don't have to run everything from scratch, but i'm looking at this and am not sure where to start.

that's about 80% of it.
there's also the computer, the inside fuse junction box and the dash wiring....

You'll definitely like the 220v source better for welding stuff like that.
once you get used to the 220 or bigger 3-phase welders, the 110 boxes are kind of a joke. terrible penetration.
Post up when you get one & let me know how you like it.

The biggest pain with the new 5.0 wiring is the huge rectangular connectors that have to pass through the firewall(three of em)- I have a 2 1/2" hole in mine. The engine connectors go on really easy, the body... I'm not sure about that. Nice new welder btw, i too just picked up a Maxstar 150 tig/stick- maybe a custom stainless 3" in the near future.[emoji6]

Great work on the car man! Wiring means it's close to firing....

Welp, I CANCELED the driveline on order from DynoTech....
They apparently are too busy to call back my parts guy or even answer the phone most of the time for an entire MONTH! :violent1:

New one on order from Driveline Specialists last week, and it will be here in 2 days!

Also met with my paint / body guy last week:
Few more weeks and I'll be handing it off to him. :headbang:
I will most likely be finishing the wiring at his shop....

As far as the four wires to the ignition? If I remember correctly you are using the factory 11-14 wiring harness so this may be a bit different. The biggest issue with these is the infamous stalling issue cured by a Ford Racing Speed Cal if you are using an older transmission. Hopefully this link helps, if you scroll to the bottom you can find the Factory Five guys How-to as there is a lot of good info there as well: https://www.google.com/search?ie=UT...rowser&q=coyote+frpp+power+pack+install+guide
