I was thinking of waiting until parts arrived, but what the helmet!

New Engine is on order!

I got my parts through Modular Madness West, here in SLC.
opened shop last year, the guy knows his stuff.
and he is a very good tuner.

Here's what's coming:

Livernois Forged Stroker rotating assembly.
Mahle forged pistons
Manley Rods
Ford Racing Cobra Crank (forged)

ARP main stud kit
Modular Madness high-volume oil pump
Modular Madness custom rear sump pan (with 2 bungs for my turbo oil returns)
Head gaskets
ARP head bolts.

Long block assembled by Modular Madness, using my ported Heads and cams baby!

Replace MAF (the C&L I have sucks donkey ballz)
Newer chip
Dyno tune.

Since he's doing the assembly and tune, if it blows up, he fixes it!

I was thinking about going with an aluminum block, but decided to do the stroker instead.
(same money) Has anyone done one?
I like the idea of more torque down low.

I'm excited! I've waited a loooong time to get enough cash to do it.
I'll post up some pix when I can.
:D

Re: ENGINE PARTS

Tell Heath to fix your ticking while hes in there. :hammer: Just kidding. Kinda funny that you are pokin in out to a 5.0L, when you should have got one from the start! :slap: I love giving you shit. Sweet list, im stoked to see what she will do. Let me know when your ready to pull that modular outta there.

Re: ENGINE PARTS

I'll check it out when we tear it down.
I think it's just the hedder gasket.
the fridge is stocked, get your ass over here saturday.

Heath wasn't concerned about the long stroke, I asked him all about it, he garentee's the assembly, so that made me feel better.
Should give it more low end grunt, and the heads will still kick ass from mid to top end.

If i knew as much about mustangs when I bought the car, i would have got a 95, but hey, first year of the 4.6, dumb kid outa high school....

So, I'll have the same cubes as you, dual overhead cam, ported heads/cams, and no distributor! - theres some pokin for U buddy.

Bring you car over when you come, so I can clean it again for you! :drunk:
I've got some poorboys stuff to try since my car's really good at sitting on the lift.

I'm excited.
I'm not sure what it adds NA, it will give more power across the band, and especially more low end torque, which is what it could use.

It's manly prep for the twin turbo's.
This assembly should handel 800-1000 HP.

Parts should arrive end of week / maybe first of next.

Re: ENGINE PARTS

No no stroker here....i haven;t seen anyone post a gain in HP with a NA stroker yet. I have seen more then 1 post hp loss's. And the piston comes too far out of the bore on BDC and becomes unstable/wobbley. Now a few guys made gains with them on blown cars.

I'm staying with stock bore/stroke on this block and sending another Teksid to VT for a 304ci Big Bore. now those will gain HP N/A....20-25 and 40lb tq.

All my engine parts were bought from Jim at VT Engines. Manley Pistons/Rods..FM bearings..Cobra Crank..Teksid block..MMR oil pump..VT st 2 Blower Cams..Fidanza adj Cam Gears..etc

Re: ENGINE PARTS

Cool, that sounds nice too.
Will be interesting to compair the output of the two different builds.

I was looking at VT previously, they do good work.

My builder likes Livernoise better, so I'm kinda going on his experience.
there was a good article about them in last months MMFF.

I'll be interested to see your thread!
Good luck with the build.

Re: ENGINE PARTS

Cool thanks droptop.

Last night we dropped the drive line & transmission. It was messy.
more to do :)

Chris can hold up a whole AODE - I call him "Bear claw" for things like that.
he also likes to break things, like tools and stuff!
