I bypassed my smog pump and have used the tightest belts I could find and they still loosen up a bit which with the angle of the tensioner with the rerouted belt has caused the tensioner to rattle on its stop at idle sometimes. I finally gave up and spent the $50 to get a smog pump delete pulley to maintain the proper belt tensioner travel. It worked without, but the rattle on the tensioner stop even after trying many different belts got annoying not to mention I spent too much in trying to buy the different size belts.

I have heard that from a few people now so I just went ahead and got the delete pulley.

I took the brake booster off today to continue smoothing out the engine bay. After battling the crap under the dash to get to the 4 bolts, then wrestling it out from between the firewall and the strut tower I considered spiking the booster as though I just caught the super bowl winning touchdown to celebrate. Good thing I took it out as it was pretty rust underneath it...
