Yes I was. Got a lot of tips and started slow.
Think I've got the hang of it pretty well

Well a lot of it is technique, you have to hold the buffer just right so it doesn't dig in.
Main point is to watch how you hit corners and raised edges, you have to make sure the pad is spinning away from the corner, not toward it or you can get too much friction. it's nice to have a boat with Gel Coat and some used cars to practice on.

Finished the buffing on the boat last weekend on the right side.
had to wet sand a few more spots, and hit it with CG paint correction #2 wool pad, then EX cream glaze `PC.

It's all covered up, few peeks.

spent the week at Lake Powell, the boat was much fun. Ran great, and has a smooth power band up to 5500 rpm with the new heads/cam.

Gotta clean her up again tonight.
Love LP!!
