I bought the Bilstein B6’s for the front and rear. Still have yet to put the rear on but I put the front on and its sticking out a lot on my strut towers. My dads buddy who helped me put them on said it fine, they still work how theyre supposed to but im just concerned because I dont know to put the rears on if the fronts are wrong, should I get in contact with Bilsteins for the correct ones if wrong? Before buying the shocks I contacted Bilstein, told them my spring brand and size before buying and they said the B6 is what I needed and would workIMG_2747.jpegIMG_2748.jpeg

I have B6’s all the way around but my fronts don’t set up out of the baseplate like those. Unless you just haven’t shoved them down yet. In my case, I do have a caster/camber plate but the threading that sticks up does not hit the underside of the hood.

you have the bottom rubber bushings piece on
there is also shoulder washer in the kit that sits on the shock rod to keep it from bottoming out
just double check you set up

I have the bottom washer, then the bottom rubber piece, as well as a spacer looking piece, then top rubber and the top washer. There was a rubber piece on the old dust cover but I didnt use it because it was attached to the old dust cover. The new shock only came with a nut for the top. I installed everything per instructions in the box

What do you mean by shove them down in yet?

Id also like to add anytime I hit a bump the new shocks rattle, is that normal?
No, not normal and very worrisome. If I were you, I’d ditch the instructions sheet which you said you rightfully followed to a tee and find an alternate source (maybe YouTube). As RAU03MACH stated, double check your setup and basically start over from Square One.

I just reread and maybe that dust cover with the rubber piece will fill that void (slop) at the top of the strut. IMO, you should be using it anyway. It’s there for a reason;-)

Pictures tell a thousand words, so are you able to post a photo(s) of the shocks and all the hardware in the kit you’re using? Maybe a photo or two containing both shocks: one assembled how you had it installed next to the other unassembled with all the hardware provided in the kit. If so, perhaps we can help walk you through it.
Cheers!

I think you're gonna have to re-check all your work.. just from here it looks like you installed the same bushing in two different orientations. Probably should take the struts back out and show us exactly how they're assembled under the car.

I ended up figuring it out. The instructions they sent me just had pictures of which bushings to keep and which to get rid of. The bushes from the old dust cover is the one I needed because it has that washer that keeps it from bottoming out. I mistaked it for the regular rubber that sits on the under side, I got rid of the under side rubber bushing and put that one from the old dust cover on now all is good, it sits how its supposed to, no more rattles and since I finished the rears as well Im able to get a full feel for these Bilstein and in my opinion theyre amazing.

Glad you got it figured out!! A wise man once said, "A man will truly pay for his education. Weather it be schooling or figuring it out on his own, but he will pay"

Now,..... did you post some pics of the car somewhere?

Great! We love pictures!

You know there is a section for build threads? Just go and create a build thread and anytime you work on the car or take pictures of it, simply post your pictures there. Its a great way for you to track your cars progress and for us to watch. Ten years down the road its fun to reflect on the cars evolution. For example, here is my build thread. The car has sat dormant for awhile due to life events. Family first, 4 kids, mom with dementia, new jobs..... https://www.sn95forums.com/threads/96blak54-reanimated.70170/
