Difference between sn95 and 99+ axles?

whats the difference, and can 99+ axles be used in our rear ends?

I dont see why not :dunno: the IRS cars that do a solid swap gets them from the pre 99 model year.....

The 99-04 are slightly longer...like 1/2-3/4 inch or so per side

so would i be able to put them into my rear or would i need to pick up one from a 99+...i wouldnt mind them sticking out some, then i wont need spacers :santa_cheesy:

they are just about a full inch longer on each side. a guy in the local mustang club swaped out his 98 axle for a mach 1 and his wheels were a inch farther out on each side. he has 10 1/2 wide wheels. heres a pic.

SN-95 axles are 29-31/32" long
New Edge are 30-11/16"
