Does anyone know the reason for different front bumper covers for the 1994-1998 Cobras?

I have a '95 Cobra and recently bought a NOS front bumper cover for it. Looking at the stock piece, there are "D" shaped holes in the bottom whereas the replacement doesn't have this.

Thought these were the same for all years...

If its an aftermarket replacement, it will never be identical to the original.

NOS = New Old Stock - supposedly meaning an OEM part that has never been used/installed (in other words, "new"). I think the reason for the question is that it's supposed to be an OEM part, not aftermarket. However it looks different. Pics would be helpful. How do you know it's NOS?

do you mean the lower mounts that I think clip into or rest against the core support? With out those all the mounts would be in one line along the head lights and I would be afraid I would sag.
