Just pulled the differential out of my 95 gts and it has one thick shim per side.
I thought there would be a few instead of one thick one.

It is all original with 2.73's
according to ford instructions I may not have to add any shims when using the ford racing gears.

Would be nice to only have to mess with one shim per side.

Anyone else have the same single shim per side when doing gears?

Thanks,
Doug

Yup, stock gears come from the factory set up like that. They are different thickness though. Make sure to mark which side they came out of. you can install them in the original position and check the backlash, you might get lucky.

Ford gear swapped to ford gear can get away with no added shims. Heard many of people doing that. Ive done it my self with a 95 crown vic.
