I bought one of the DNA motoring chineesium cat backs. It arrived faster than expected and in good condition. It looks to be a really nice system for the money. I hit it on a lucky day - $213 and free Amazon shipping. Unfortunately it is still sitting on the bench as I have no indoor place to work on things, we got 6" of snow, and the temps have not gotten above the 20s since it arrived. Forecast is not looking promising either. Will post when I get it on.
I think a scavenge cat drop may be in order but I am going to wait and see what the sound level is first. I want a bit more volume and better tone but I am far from being 22 and don't want my wife to bitch about it being too loud. I will put a clamp in pipe in case I want to add a resonator back for volume control.
I plan on a Marty tune in the spring after I figure out the mid pipe situation.

I have no input as I have no experience in mufflers due to not having any....ever. Well i take that back. Ive ran a handful of mufflers on different modular engine cars and Ill say Borla was the best choice when I had a crownvictoria. For sure wife and drone friendly. Ill also say the thrush turbo muffler sounded awesome when pushing into the rpms and quiet cruising, but the muffler simply didnt survive and started to blow apart.

I have this same exhaust but attached to long tubes and an off-road x pipe. It sounds so clean and amazing for the cost. Does not idle loud even with no cats and long tubes. The welds and fitment were extremely nice for the price point. I don't have any nice videos or sound clips though.

Yes, the flange is welded and at least 1/4" thick (haven't measured). The tig welds on the system look really nice. I deal with welding all day at work, I am not an expert but know the difference. I need to see if I can get into our install bay at work and use the lift. Not sure if it is heated, lows this weekend around 0. Not good on fingers handling metal.
When I go to install I will do a before and after. Do a couple drive by passes and static.

Here are some additional pictures. The welds look darn good.
The fixed flanges tie the two pieces of the system together - muffler to the over the axle. There is a picture of the floating flange that ties into the midpipe.
The fixed flange measures (Inch to metric conversion) 8mm (5/16). Nice and thick.
WMFATEAM - When you installed yours did you have do anything at the midpipe interface? 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 adapter? If I can get some help I found I can use the heated install bay here at work over the weekend.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures while installing, but I didn't have any issues matching up to the LAR Performance X Pipe. Because I have long tubes I used pole jacks to "lift up" the exhaust as much as possible while wrenching everything down. I

Ah, so you already had 2-1/2 all the way down to the end of the mid pipe?
I believe that is the results of my set up. If it isn't, the 1/8" on each side should still have the bolts in the same place on the flanges for a factory H pipe to connect to. I don't remember seeing any issues on any of the install videos that I watched. I was going to buy one for my Bullitt as well since they are still cheap and sound great.

You guys with 2-1/2 cat backs to 2-1/4 stock mid pipes, did you have any issues with leaks or need an adapter to get that to mate up? The system has the ball/socket and floating flanges but I want to make sure I have any parts needed before tearing things apart.
