Noticed this little bit of fraying left side of belt. Does this need replacing or is it ok? Also wondering if it’s contributing to the “squeaky, squealing” noise I’m getting (refer other thread of mine)

If it were mine yes
Since it’s likely that I will have to replace my squeaky tensioner pulley , may as well slap a new belt on there.
Is Gates a good brand, or ???

I like napa so much that I got stock in them last year. Now I don't feel so bad when I have to go there especially since its up %25 before a healthy dividend.

I picked up a Continental belt when I scrapped the smog pump. For some reason they were one of the only ones I could find in my required length. Seems like it was 90.2", but don't quote me on that lol.

Funny you should mention! I researched and fell into the Goodyear Gatorback belt which is now branded as the Continental Elite! Apparently very good for squeak elimination.
Now… research where to find!

May have found the culprit… a loose power steering pulley. Hopefully the video downloads and you can see it. I tried tightening it down but it wants to rotate wit itB2A37385-C5DB-4928-BFB2-8BD929714A93.jpeg

You need the tool or else it’ll just spin like you’ve already found out.
I was able to wedge an extension in there and stop it. Didn’t tighten down any further.
