Interesting question, looking for some answers.

Does Wheel Bearing Grease go bad?...like when its sitting on the shelf?

I am doing some wheel bearings on a ford expedition and gotta repack the bearings. I have a half empty tub of CRC Wheel Bearing Grease that is maybe 16-17 years old. Its been sealed in the tub, sitting in my cabinet. Has it gone bad? Can I still use it? There is no separation of the grease, its just old and have had it for a long time, now i gotta use it.

Should I use it, or buy a new tub of grease?

It's fine if it's not contaminated. However technology with lubricants is much better nowadays, I'd probably just get some new synthetic grease anyway.

Go buy another tub to let it sit around for 20 years as well :)

Still using my 15 year old gigantic tub of synthetic valvoline courtesy of the Ford dealership. Bought and sold a lot of cars that i've fixed using that grease. It'll be fine.
